Tranmere story
William Aidan “Billy” Kenny is an English former midfielder born in Liverpool. He began his professional career with Everton, making his senior debut during the 1971–72 season, before moving across the Mersey to Tranmere Rovers during the 1974–75 campaign.
Kenny was part of the Rovers squad that earned promotion from the Fourth Division in 1975–76 and remained at Prenton Park until 1977. He subsequently played in North America for Cleveland Cobras before returning to England with Ashton United. His son, also named Billy Kenny, later followed him into professional football with Everton.
